As a result of its hitherto Imbābah investigations the Supreme State Security Prosecution charged 23 salafists with terrorism, premeditated murder, vandalism of public and private property and intimidating citizens.

Prosecutors also began questioning a Coptic café owner in the area, who is accused of firing the first shot in the clashes, and ‘Abīr Tal’at, a Coptic woman whose conversion to Islam allegedly sparked the clashes.
