Archpriest Salīb Mattá Sawiris, a member of the church's Milī Council, and Father of Mar-Jirjis [Saint George] Church in Shubrā, said that it is too soon to talk about the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) reaching power, affirming that Copts will not accept a religious rule.

Mamdūh Ramzī, Coptic activist, said that whichever Copts joined the MB's party "Freedom and Justice" are 'little people', adding that they are all Evangelicals, who do not represent Christians in Egypt. Furthermore, their membership in the party is considered a form of political hypocrisy.
