Muhammad Badī', the Muslim Brotherhood's (MB) Murshid [Guide], said that the basis of knowledge and morals in the Egyptian community come from the Azhar, adding that all MB and al-Jamā'ah al-Islāmīyah are brought up on this.

He said that Sayīd Qutb, whom he called a martyr, advised him to take care of Copts in prison.

Badī' showed his will to visit Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III after his return from his health trip to the United States.
