The Quwaysnā Family Court in the governorate of al-Minoufiya handed down a final sentence separating 'Abīr Tal'at Fakhrī, the woman who started the sectarian unrest in the impoverished Giza district of Imbābah, from her Christian husband Ayman Jamāl Fathī Fahmī.

The court issued the ruling due to different faiths between 'Abīr and Fahmī after the 25-year-old woman converted to Islam.

'Abīr, who had married Fahmī in 2006, switched to Islam on September 23, 2010 and changed her name to Asmā' Muhammad Ibrāhīm based on a decision by the Azhar's Fatwá Committee.
