Pope Shenouda III, the head of Coptic Orthodox Church, and other priests are thinking of canceling this year's iftar celebration due to recent upheavals in Egypt. However, Salib Matta Sawiris, a Coptic Orthodox priest, is against the idea for Egyptians have to unite in order to avoid a division of the population, as is currently happening in Sudan. In addition, a secular Coptic activist, Kamal Zakher said that there might be trouble if the Coptic Church doest not invite Islamists.
