Mark Nabīl, 20, the brother of blogger and political activist Michael Nabīl, objected to questioning by passports officials at Cairo Airport regarding his compulsory conscription status and whether he carried license by the armed forces to leave the country.

Mark said that he was a “public figure and one of the January 25 revolutionaries”.

The 27-year-old Michael, a physician, was finishing his travel procedures along with his brother Mark aboard an EgyptAir flight bound for Frankfurt, Germany, but it turned out that his younger brother, at the age of compulsory conscription, had no clearance from the army.
