Dr. 'Abd al-Mun'im Abū al-Futūh, former presidential candidate, stated that the Muslim Brotherhood (MB) was an integral part of Egyptian society and emphasized his pride in belonging to the “Islamic project”.

According to him, the MB fought for the interests of the Egyptians and their homeland for a long period of time. For these reasons, nobody should accuse the MB of seeking personal gains.

On the other hand, if mistakes occured in the MB's policy, they should recognize these and placate Egyptians' fears over the coming period.
