Coptic Pope Tawadros II met the new Apostolic Nuncio to Egypt Archbishop Jean-Paul Aimé Gobel at Saint Mark Cathedral in al-'Abbāsīyyah. During the meeting they discussed cooperation and dialogue between the Coptic Orthodox and Roman Catholic Church, and Pope Tawadros announced that he will visit Vatican Pope Francis I in the Vatican soon. The visit it will be the first of its kind since the visit of the late Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III to the Vatican in 1973.
