After the attack on churches and mosques, several calls spread from political activists, intellectuals and citizens to form popular committees to protect houses of worship.  But the poets Ramzī Bisharā, Christian, and Abdullah Hassan, Muslim, tried to reject any temptation that may flare up because of these conflicts, through their poetic talents on the social-networking site, Facebook. Bishāra’s poetic verses expressed his gratitude for the noble position of some Muslims to protect churches, but urged them not to do so as “churches can be rebuilt, but your life if lost cannot be regained”.
