Coptic movements have welcomed the new article, but assured that it is important to draft a law conforming to the Constitution. Dr. Antwān ‘Adil, member of the Maspero Youth Union, stated that this requires a new law to regulate the building of new churches.

Dr. Sūzy Adlī, former member of the Shūrá Council, stated that the current (suspended) Constitution contains an article that asserts the freedom of building houses of worship.
