On Saturday evening Cairo captured the world’s attention as all eyes were on the majestic procession of 22 kings from ancient Egypt that started at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, and ended at The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, located in the ancient city of Fustat, where they are to be permanently displayed. The origins of the royal mummies date back to the dynastic ages (17th, 18th, 19th and 20th), and the procession included 18 mummies of kings and 4 mummies of queens.
