The Orthodox Coptic Church started sending invitations for the celebration of Christimas and the mass.

Invitations were sent to: Jamāl Mubārak, Head of the National Democratic Party's Policies Committee; Aḥmad Fatḥī Surūr, Speaker of the People’s Assembly; and Ṣafwat al-Sharīf, chief of Shura Council.

Archpriest Sergius Sergius pointed out that church doesn't object to the attendance of opposing supporters and that they welcome every social and political groups, assuring that the pope didn't invite Muḥammad al-Barād‘ī but they didn't object his presence like his supporters claim.

He added that church doesn't invite from itself but people ask for this invitation.

On the other hand, the Orthodox Coptic Cultural Centre is holding a cultural meeting under the title 'Copts history'.
