The President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, Aḥmad al-Raysūnī, has caused outrage by issuing a fatwā permitting Muslims to visit al-Aqṣā Mosque in Jerusalem, affirming that “not everyone who visits Jerusalem commits a wrongdoing or is calling for normalisation”.
The International Union of Muslim Scholars, whose headquarters are based in the Qatari capital Dūḥa (Doha), one of the fronts of the Muslim Brotherhood group, has published a video on the social networking site Twitter showing their president, Aḥmad al-Raysūnī, who has been appointed to celebrate the anniversary of the arson attack on al-Aqṣā in 1969.
The video shows al-Raysūnī attacking Israel, calling it a “community of bastards, united only by their hatred of Muslims”, while at the same time retaining his invitation to visit Jerusalem without any explanation or apology.
