Seven years have passed since the rule of President ʿAbd al-Fattāḥ al-Sīsī. These years have witnessed many achievements and successes, the most prominent of which is strengthening the Copts' relationship with the state and gaining the respect and love of the Coptic people, particularly of His Holiness Pope Tawāḍrūs II, representing the Coptic Orthodox Church, Dr. Rev. Andria Zakī, the President of the Evangelical community, and Patriarch Ibrāhīm Isḥāq, the patriarch of Coptic Catholics.

These seven years witnessed radical changes in the relationship of the President with the Church and the Copts, which was evident in his visit to the cathedral during the Christmas masses every year. Al-Sīsī is the first Egyptian President to conduct these visits annually on a regular basis. Moreover, he contributed to the reconstruction of churches that were burned and destroyed by the Muslim Brotherhood, and the construction of new ones in new cities.
