Dr. ʿAbbās Shūmān, deputy shaykh from al-Azhar al-Sharīf concluded his visit to Brazil, at the invitation of the Federation of Islamic Institutions in Brazil, to visit Rio de Janeiro.

The Deputy Shaykh from al-Azhar affirmed that there are several constants that represent Al-Azhar's cooperation with the official religious institutions in the world: Islam is a religion linked to the divine religions in an indissoluble organic bond. "We Muslims believe that all the Tawrāh, the Bible and the Qur'an are guidance and light for the people, and that the later is validated for the past, and the faith of the Muslim is not fulfilled unless he believes in all the heavenly books and prophets and messengers" He added.
