In a meeting at the well-known Downtown Café Riche, hosted by our friend Magdī ʿAbd al-Malāk, the café’s owner and a former military pilot, Major General Aḥmad Rajā’ī ʿAṭīya, an October War hero and education expert, spoke to us about expansions made by the Greek community in Egypt, which has controlled Saint Catherine’s Monastery for many years.
