Under the auspices of the Grand Imām of al-Azhar, Dr. Aḥmad al-Ṭayyib, the Council of the Islamic Research Academy at al-Azhar made a statement saying, “Teach the youth that the Palestinian cause will not die, and that tolerance and coexistence cannot exist whilst civilians and institutions are targeted for bombing. Societies must work together for peace and security to prevail, and this is the responsibility of all of us.”
