The Al-Azhar Scholars’ Front returns and its last president says they will concentrate on issues concerning the Sunna [Islamic tradition], and will be confronting the Ibn Khaldoun Centre. They are also willing to let bygones be bygones with Sheikh Sayyed Tantawi, the Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
The Administrative Court on Sunday annulled a decree issued last June by Cairo Governor Abdel Rahim Shehata dissolving the board of directors of the Front of Al-Azhar ’Ulama.
The Azhar Scholars Front and the staff of the Azhar University refuted the decision to annul the Front before the administrative court.
