Apostasy in Islam means that an adult Muslim chooses, of his own free will, to leave Islam for unbelief, in which he finds pleasure. In one of the Hadiths [Written record of the sayings of the Prophet], it was said that a woman had left Islam for unbelief. When the Prophet heard about her, he asked her to repent and convert back to Islam or to be killed. The women refused to convert back and so she was killed.
