After selling a church to a Muslim businessman, the Greek Orthodox Church is negotiating its return. The new owner failed to sell the church to any of the Christian denominations in Egypt. While the Greek Orthodox Church asserts that it is prohibited by law to change the function of the church building or build anything else on the land, the owner asserts that he can do whatever he wants because he is the official owner of the building.
