Prince Charles of Wales invited Grand Shaykh of the Azhar Dr. Ahmad al-Tayyīb to visit Britain during the month of April to give a lecture at the University of Cambridge.

Al-Tayyīb received the invitation on March 28 from British ambassador to Cairo James Watt [Reviewer’s Note: the paper mistakenly wrote his name as “David Watt”] during his visit to the Azhar headquarters.

The Grand Shaykh is scheduled to make a series of meetings and lectures with Muslims in Britain during his visit.

Dr. ‘Alī Jum’ah, Muftī of the Republic, for his part, visited the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral on March 29 in al-‘Abbāssīyah, to offer condolences over the death of Coptic Orthodox Pope Shenouda III to caretaker patriarch Bishop Pachomius and members of the Holy Synod.
