Sources in the Constituent Assembly stated that there is an inclination to resolve the dispute over the “identity articles”, through voting in the general session of the assembly after the members failed to reach an agreement within basic principles subcommittee. The sources said that there was a decision to hold a meeting between Al-Azhar, the Church, and representatives of the Nūr Party to develop several formulations of the disputed articles (1,2,3, and 4) in the presence of ‘Amr Mūsá, Chairman of the Committee (Walā’ Na’īmah et al, al-Watan, Oct. 1, p. 8). Read the original text in Arabic.
