Participants in a conference for Copts in Cairo held by the Egyptian Organization Union  for Human Rights issued seven demands to confront the issue of the migration of Christians from the Arabic world. The demands included the fair representation of Christians in positions of authority, the issuing of legislation to allow the practice of religious rituals and the propagation of a culture of moderate Islam. Najīb Jubrā’īl, president of the organization, said that 100,000 Copts migrated during the rule of the Muslim Brotherhood, while the number of Christians in Iraq has decreased from 1.5 million to 450,000 (Mustafá Rahūmah, al-Watan, Mar. 11, p. 2). Read original text in Arabic here.
