The Secretariat of Women for the Egyptian Democratic Party held the second annual conference of women of the party called “Women and Parliament.” The President of the Egyptian Democratic Party asserted at the conference that political Islam does not impose any impediments on women. For his part, former presidential candidate Hamdīn Sabbāhī said that the institutionalized corruption of deposed president Hosnī Mubārak’s policies is still negatively affecting Egypt.
