“The crescent moon with the cross”: this is the motto of Father Bandalīmūn Bushrā, a Roman Orthodox priest in Dumyāṭ.  Father Bandalīmūn, in the spirit of interfaith engagement, bought 50 boxes of sweets, commemorating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad [al-Mawlid al-Nabawīy], to distribute to those in need in celebration of the holiday.  This is not the only time that the powerful relationship between Muslims and Coptic Christians was on display.  Previously, Father Bandalīmūn distributed meals for those fasting during Ramadan.  According to him, there is no difference between Muslims and Christians in Egypt.
