From the heart of the Bahraini capital, Manama, which has witnessed the Pope’s historic visit, and in a gesture to renounce sectarian conflict, Imam Aḥmed Al-Ṭayyeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar, shared an invitation to Islamic scholars all over the world, regardless of their affiliation, to dialogue: “As I address this invitation to our Shiite Muslim brothers, I am ready, along with Al-Azhar’s senior scholars and the Council of Muslim Elders, to hold such a meeting with open hearts and outstretched hands to sit together at one table,” announced Sheikh Al-Ṭayyeb.
