of an Alexandrian businessman, Dr. Ali Elba, has declared that she has

embraced Islam and taken the new name Eisha

Mohammed Elba. This conversion was applauded in the national

newspaper, al-Ahram, but Youssuf Sedhum wonders

why conversions to Christianity are not met with such

acceptance, given that the constitution supports freedom of

belief and guarantees equality.
