The article is about a research discussed during the second Saudi National dialogue

Conference held in Riyadh a few weeks ago. The research is on the role of curricula of Sharia

sciences in Saudi public schools in promoting religious extremism and the culture of violence

against non-Muslims and Muslims of unorthodox Islamic thoughts. Ibrahim Al-Sakran and Abdel Aziz

Qassem, two Saudi researchers, prepared the research.

The research revealed that Saudi

textbooks contain gross distortions with regard to principal issues related to the rights of

Muslims of dissenting opinions and the rules of dealings with the People of the Books [Jews and

Christians].
