The four accepted Gospels of the New Testament, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John portray Judas Iscariot as a traitor who betrayed Jesus Christ to the Romans for money. A new gospel called "The Gospel of Judas Iscariot” has been unveiled by the National Geographic Society and it gives a new and different interpretation of both Judas and his relationship to Jesus. According to the Gospel of Judas, Jesus asked Judas to sacrifice himself and to enable Jesus to fulfill his mission on Earth.
