Family court in al-Zaytūn divorced a Christian woman from her husband after he converted to Islam.

Muná N. married Girgis K. in 1978 by the law of the Coptic Orthodox Church and gave birth to 2 children. After 33 years of marriage he converted to Islam and as consequently the Islamic sharī'ah had to be applied the wife filed a divorce report then.

The woman said that she hated his life with him because of his inappropriate behavior explaining that the Islamic religion does not accept this.
