Lawyer Najīb Jabrā’īl said his client Kāmīliyā Shihātah will not appear in the June 14, 2011 session at the State Council’s Administrative Judiciary Court in a case filed to demand that her whereabouts are disclosed.

“I expect the court to turn down the case and close it once and for all on the grounds that my client has already appeared on a satellite channel to confirm that she is still Christian and has never converted to Islam,” Jabrā’īl said.

Kāmīliyā, the wife of a priest in the Upper Egyptian governorate of al-Minya, had sparked controversy after she left her husband’s house.
