The conferees appealed to the youths who played a key role in the liberation movements and expressed the current stage to be armed with the spirit of faith inherited from the forefathers and to preserve freedom, human dignity and continually work on bringing peace in the east.

This came in the final statement of the conference, held under the slogan Evangelical and Christian Presence in the Middle East, and presided by Andrea Zakī, FMEEC Chairman. The gathering was attended by several Christian leaders in the Middle East region as well as Lebanese ministers and members of parliament and the secretary-general of the Middle East Council of Churches.
