After Copts have suffered for years in court cases related to the distribution of inheritance shares, Professor Nelly Fam, an attorney of cassation (or appeals), succeeded in implementing the Coptic Orthodox Personal Status Law, with its provisions on inheritance, the entitlement of heirs, and the share of each of them in the inheritance, not only by distributing shares equally between males and females but also succeeded in implementing other cases, including the distribution of shares for each of the seven degrees of kinship for the heirs entitled to an inheritance.
