Al-Hayat and al-Akhbar praised Pope Shenouda’s invitation to those who participated in the series of "Awan al-Ward" to the annual Ifṭār party of the Coptic Orthodox church. Both papers wrote about the support of the Minister of Information for the series. Rose al- Youssef reported the details of a symposium Awan Al -Ward. Its producer praised the enlightened censorship in al-Arabi and expressed his agony about the cases filed against him and at the severe criticism of Christians. al-Wafd criticized the simplicity of the series’ plot and the artless attempt of its writer to break into such complicated issue in a very simple way.
